UH-1 Huey Visits Aviation Heritage Park September 10HueyEventSquareAviation Heritage Park will host a traveling Huey helicopter exhibit Saturday, September 10. The MARPAT Huey team from West Virginia will land the helicopter in the park Saturday morning welcoming park guests for tours, exhibits and rides from 10 AM – 4 pm.

The aircraft is a UH-1B Iroquois that saw duty as an Army gunship during the war in Viet Nam. After decommissioning, the aircraft was discovered by Hollywood, appearing in several feature television shows and movies like China Beach, The Rock and Die Hard.

Aviation Heritage Park has recently been awarded a Huey to display in the park. The as yet undelivered helicopter will tell the story of the heroism and courage of the warriors of Vietnam. Heroes’ stories should never die. They live forever at Aviation Heritage Park. The park is always free to guests but donations to the campaign are encouraged at this event.
